Plans to build 40 new flats in former office space in Maidenhead have been granted prior approval by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. 

The site was previously used as offices for health company InVentiv Health.

Despite objections raised to these plans by nearby neighbours, developers are now allowed to convert Thames House into 19 one-bed and two-bedroom apartments, as well as one studio flat.

Concerns had been raised over the potential impact on traffic, an increase in noise and the suitability of the offices for residential use.

Despite this, the proposals have since been given the go-ahead by the council.

Although details of each of the properties are scarce, developers have confirmed that private outdoor amenity space will be provided within the existing roof terrace area at first floor accessible to all residents.

It has been confirmed that lower ground-floor and basement car parking will be maintained and the provision of cycle parking within a secured area at basement level for at least one bicycle per flat.
