A MAN whose stalking was so serious his victim was forced to carry a rape alarm has been jailed for months.
Wqaral Haq, of Great Hill Crescent, Maidenhead, will spend 24 weeks behind bars after stalking a woman over the course of four months from March to July 2020.
His actions, which caused her ‘alarm [and] distress’, had a ‘substantial adverse effect’ on the victim’s day-to-day activities.

The 41-year-old would call and attend the woman’s place of work and even followed her on Maidenhead High Street on two occasions in March and June 2020.
His actions were so alarming for the woman that she had to carry a rape alarm for her protection.
He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison as his stalking was described as ‘predatory behaviour’ which had a ‘significant impact’ on the victim.

Haq was also forced to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
The Maidenhead man was sentenced at Slough Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 24.
