The last remaining bank in Cookham will become a new restaurant after plans were given the go-ahead by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
Nationwide on Station Hill in Cookham closed last year, leaving the village without a physical bank or building society.
The company said that the closure was as a result of 'sustained low and declining usage'.

Developers had previously submitted a plan to convert the space into two new properties on the ground floor.
A new plan was subsequently submitted to convert the bank into a new restaurant and takeaway.

No specific details regarding the branding or opening date of the new restaurant has been released by the developers.
Ten objections were submitted to the application with six supporting comments also submitted.
Planning officers from the Royal Borough have since granted the application planning permission.
