Plans have been granted permission by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to convert the former Poundstretcher shop in Maidenhead High Street into new flats.
A total of 12 flats are planned, with eight one-bedroom properties and four two-bedroom apartments making up the new homes.

A similar plan had been submitted and was refused in February of this year following concerns over a lack of privacy and light within the proposed properties.
To address these concerns, developers have redesigned the rear and eastern elevations.

The plans remained divisive ahead of approval with some local residents and business owners.
Similar concerns had been raised about the lack of light for the new properties.
