Stabbing outside bar in Slough town centre urges police appeal

A stabbing outside a bar in Slough's town centre has led to police appealing for witnesses.

Shortly after midnight, on Sunday, August 8, the victim, a man in his twenties, was with his friends outside Bar Deco on High Street, Slough, when a fight took place.

Woman on horse places order at McDonald's drive-thru in Slough

Customers at a drive-thru McDonald's restaurant were surprised when a woman made an order on horseback.

The scene was snapped on Wednesday at about lunchtime by a resident in Slough, who was near the McDonald's in the trading estate.

The horse rider was spotted in the drive-thru queue collecting her McDonald's order.

 

A4 closures in Maidenhead planned with works set to start

Work is set to commence shortly on a new signalized pedestrian and cycle crossing on Bad Godesberg Way in Maidenhead.

The works are being undertaken to create a new crossing at Kidwells Park, allowing more convenient access to the town centre. 

The works will start on August 16 (next Monday) and are scheduled to complete in October.

Beauty business fined thousands for selling products 'that can turn skin blue'

A Slough-based business has been ordered to pay thousands of pounds after illegal and dangerous skin lightening products which can turn skin blue, were found on sale.

The products were found by trading standard officers after being told about the illegal trading.

Beauty World was operating out of a commercial unit at Tesco Extra in Wellington Street, Slough, when the council received a complaint about the products in July 2018.

Jail time for mum who spat at police during pandemic peak after 'violent' hammer attack

A judge has slammed a mother-of-five for spitting at two police officers during the “height of the pandemic” after she was arrested for attacking a man with a claw hammer.

Rosie Hicks, of Blackburn Road, Bradford, will serve at least half-a-year behind bars following her “violent and enraged behaviour” in Slough in April last year.

The 26-year-old “deliberately” spat at the officers, a court heard, to “make them feel worried about coronavirus”.
