A drink driver who was caught in Taplow at more than three times the legal limit has been left more than £1,500 out of pocket.
Michael Wevill, aged 58, of Lent Green Lane in Burnham, was fined £1,400 after he was caught drunk behind the wheel of a Citroen C3 in the Jubliee River car park in Marsh Lane, Taplow on May 7.
Appearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 1, Wevill pleaded guilty to one charge of drink driving.
The court heard how the offender’s breath contained 129 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35 micrograms.
As well as the fine, Wevill also had to pay £225 costs and has been banned from driving for 28 months.
He will have the opportunity to shorten this ban slightly if he completes a training course.
