Aldi is planning to open up to eight new stores across Berkshire.

And it is great news for Slough shoppers, with the town being identified as one of the areas of priority for a new store.

The company is currently looking for freehold town-centre or edge-of-centre sites suitable for development.

It says each site should be around 1.5 acres and able to accommodate a 20,000 sq ft store with around 100 parking spaces.

Ideally, these sites will be on a prominent main road and with good visibility and access.

The full list of locations it is targeting in Berkshire are

  • Bracknell
  • Maidenhead
  • Reading
  • Slough
  • Windsor
  • Wokingham
  • Newbury
  • Thatcham
