A blind mare escaped its paddock at the Blue Acre Horse Rescue in Old Windsor before falling into the River Thames.
Horses in their pen escaped after a pin holding a latch closed came free on May 29.
One of these horses, Flek, is blind and followed the other horses to the river and had fallen from the bank upstream from where she was ultimately spotted swimming.

People living on the river heard her splashing in the water and alerted the police and fire service.
