OFFICES could be converted into 28 flats - this is just one of the many planning applications submitted or determined by Slough Borough Council or the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Not a lot of details have been released on this application – but planning officers are yet to decide on the developers, Sorbon Estates, plans to convert officers into new apartments.

The building was in use before 29th May 2013 as offices and is currently in use as offices.
All flats will have access to natural light due to the arrangement of the flats and the extensive amount of existing fenestration that benefits the building.
The proposals will result in no material impact on the highways network due to the existing office use and retention of existing parking areas within the site.
Change of use of former pub to serve food and drink as well as provide a takeaway service at The Pied Horse, High Street, Slough (P/08145/008).
The owners want to heavily refurbish, repair, and convert this former pub in order to provide ‘traditional’ food and drink to visitors and include a takeaway facility.
They say there a number of pubs in the central Slough area and wants to attract new customers with this change as the demand for pubs has changed in this area, the applicant said.
The planning statement stated: “Over 20 years ago, the then Public House was subjected to severe flooding, which filled the basement area, which is part of the Public House demise. This put the Public House completely out of action.

“Apparently the flooding was not rectified for a very considerable amount of time (taking 20 full tankers of water to clear), following which the occupiers abandoned the Public House, never to return.
“At some stage, all of the internals and support equipment of the Public House were removed by others, with no rectification or other works carried out.
“Nothing further was done by the then building owners, the Use having, over time, become abandoned.”
Slough Borough Council planning officers have yet to decide on this application.
Change of a residential flat into a staff breakroom/storage for a dental surgery at top floor, flat 50, High Street, Sunninghill, Ascot (21/01528/FULL).
The owner of the Sunninghill Dental Practise wants to change the two-bedroom flat on the first floor for the ground-floor dental surgery to use as storage and a break room for staff.
The kitchen would remain for use by staff during their breaks and they will store dental products and paperwork on the second-floor loft room.

The flat is 72sqm, which the application says does not provide adequate space, and the practice needs this space in order to expand.
The Royal Borough planning officers have yet to decide on this application.
