Slough is perhaps best known as being the setting for Ricky Gervais' cult comedy show The Office.

Loveable character David Brent's mannerisms helped cement Slough in the national cultural conscience.

But, you may not have known of some of the films that have been filmed on our doorstep.

Below are five of the biggest movies that have seen A-List stars descend on our town.

Maleficient 
Angelina Jolie, Ellie Fanning and Sharlto Copley all starred in this 2014 action-adventure film.

Three of the scenes were filmed in Langley Park as well as in nearby Pinewood Studios.

A View to a Kill 

This 1985 James Bond film stars Roger Moore in the lead role.

As was the case was Maleficient, several scenes of the film were shot in Langley Park.

London Has Fallen

2016 thriller London Has Fallen stars Hollywood royalty including Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler.

As was the case with the previous two aforementioned movies, Langley Park was used as a set on location.

Top Secret!

Van Kilmer and Lucy Gutteridge were among the stars who featured in this 1984 comedy musical.

The 'how silly can you get' musical number was filmed in the Fulcrum Entertainment Centre.

Dr Strangelove

Slough Trading Estate was used as a location during the filming of this 1964 classic.
Legendary producer Stanley Kubrick reportedly said that he believed the site could look like an American military base.
