SLOUGH Labour has confirmed the former deputy mayor no longer sits as a Labour member while he is under investigation.
Last week, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) understood Wexham Lea councillor Haqeeq Dar was suspended by central Labour pending investigation into complaints.
It was not made clear when and the reasons why he was suspended.
Slough Labour has revealed to the LDRS that Cllr Dar has been administratively suspended from the Labour Party on April 30 and no longer sits as a Labour councillor pending the outcome of the investigation.

A Labour Group spokesperson said: “The Labour Group has received notice that Cllr Dar has been administratively suspended from the Labour Party on April 30th and is therefore no longer sitting as a Labour councillor pending the outcome of the investigation by the Labour Party.
“Slough Labour Group will be making no further comment.”
Cllr Dar became deputy mayor for the town last year and was also the chairman of the planning committee.
At a full council meeting on April 27, a vote of thanks was given to the retiring deputy, who was not present at the meeting.

The Conservatives and Independent councillor Madhuri Bedi (Foxborough) withdrew their thanks.
Reacting to Cllr Dar’s suspension, the leader of the Slough Conservatives, councillor Wayne Strutton (Haymill and Lynch Hill), said: “I am shocked at how long it has taken Slough Labour to address the situation.
“It raises wider questions as to when allegations resulting in Cllr Dar’s suspension came to light; and why Labour not only did not inform the public of this issue but failed to withdraw Cllr Dar as Deputy Mayor.”
