A NEW shop and flats are set to go up at an empty plot of land in the town.
The new detached building planned for Elliman Avenue will be two-storeys, with a shop proposed for the first floor and a two-bedroom flat suggested for the second floor.
Another apartment, a studio flat, is also planned for the rear of the building along with separate garden spaces.

It is not stated what type of shop will occupy the retail unit.
The site is a corner plot residing next to a row of terraced houses with 83 Elliman Avenue.
A statement from applicant Waqar Khan read: “The proposal will provide a positive impact as currently, it’s an empty and vacant plot of land.
“It will fill in the gap between 83 and 85 Elliman Avenue in terms of its scale and cohere with the design style of the street scene.
