A fire at Seymour House sheltered accommodation in St Mary's Road, Langley led to 21 residents being evacuated this afternoon.
Two engines from Slough and one from Langley raced to the site soon after 2pm, as the occupant of a blazing flat was helped out of the ground floor window by people on the scene.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital for a check up.

As firefighters fought the blaze occupants of the sheltered homes were evacuated internally to a common area protected by fire doors.
Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hosereels to stop the fire spreading beyond the one flat, although there was some smoke damage to the corridor.
They were there two hours and other residents' homes were all saved.
