1. Man jailed for robbing Winnersh BP petrol station armed with hammer

Slough Observer:

AN armed robber has been jailed for taking more than £250 in cash from a BP till in Winnersh.

Gary Smith, 37, of no fixed abode, was found guilty on Friday (December 18) by unanimous jury verdict of one count of robbery in a trial lasting four days at Reading Crown Court.

2. More than a quarter of knife criminals in the Thames Valley are reoffenders

Slough Observer:

More than a quarter of adult criminals caught carrying a blade in the Thames Valley have previously committed a knife crime, new figures show.

Anti-knife crime charity the Ben Kinsella Trust says too many offenders “simply reappear on our streets still carrying weapons”.

3. Slough lorry driver assaulted near the town's Mars factory

Slough Observer:

A lorry driver in his 50s was assaulted in Slough after he was confronted by a motorist.

Between 4.10pm and 4.30pm on Thursday, December 17, a 56-year-old man was driving a lorry in Fairlie Road, near the town’s Mars factory.

4. CCTV: Teen arrested after attacker stamps on victim's face in 'horrific' Reading robbery

Slough Observer:

A 'HORRIFIC' and violent attack on a group of teenagers in Reading town centre has led to police releasing CCTV of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the robbery.

The attack took place on Sunday, December 13, where a 17-year-old boy was walking with friends on Friar Street, Reading, when they were approached by two men outside the CEX shop.

5. Wokingham: Residents advised by police following rise in burglary reports

LOCAL POLICE have issued advice on how to stay safe during the festive season, following a number of burglaries in the Wokingham area.

According to the latest statistics on Police.UK, there were 63 cases of burglary from January to October just in the Wokingham Town area this year, and according to the Thames Valley Police burglaries are once again on the rise across Berkshire.
