The new 'double decker' hotel on the site of Slough's old library will open three months ahead of schedule on February 1 - and potential staff are invited to 'audition' as if it was a TV show.
The new Moxy and Residence Inn will transform the iconic site on William Street into two hotels literally on top of each other but with very different styles.
Philip Steiner - General Manager of the dual-brand Moxy and Residence Inn Slough property – said: “Finding the right people with the ‘Moxy Factor’ is going to be central to our success. We’re not looking for conventional hotel people to fill our customer-facing positions, which is why our interview process is anything but traditional.”

Much like TV talent shows, the hour-long audition sessions will allow potential recruits to show off their people-focused skills in front of a panel of judges, who will be watching how they interact with their fellow interviewees and assessing the chemistry and creativity they display when working with others.
The Residence will have 92 suites and is aimed at longer stay guests. While the 152 room Moxy will reflect the town's famous connections with the Thunderbirds puppet TV series.

The hotels are owned by Slough Borough Council and were developed via Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) – a joint venture between the council and Morgan Sindall Investments Ltd.
Both hotels will be operated by award-winning hotel management company Cycas Hospitality.
The staff 'auditions' are on December 10 and 11. Over the two-day event, up to 400 applicants will be taken through a series of interactive individual and group tasks.
Aspiring employees should submit their CV by November 25 and the shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a 3-minute video showcasing their outgoing personality and Moxy spirit. Those who make the video-cut will be invited to the third and final stage; the virtual casting days December 10 and 11.
