A fire has broken out in a block of flats in Slough this evening.
The fire can be seen at the top of a block of flats in The Grove, near the Meridian office building.
The Grove is shut between the roundabout and the High Street and residents are being asked to avoid the area while fire crews and police are on the scene.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue crews from Slough, Langley, Maidenhead, Windsor, as well as Bucks Fire and Rescue and London Fire crews, are on the scene.
Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service are also in attendance, although it has not been confirmed at this stage if anyone is injured.
Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes, but non-affected residents in surrounding blocks have reportedly been allowed to return home.
Slough Borough Council said its building control inspector and other council officers are on the scene and are arranging overnight accommodation for those who have been evacuated and cannot return home.
More as we get it.
