A budding Windsor musician has drawn together 60 friends across five continents to create a song and video honouring the NHS heroes and frontline workers battling the Coronavirus.
Akaal Karma, 33, who lives in Beaumont Road had recently made the momentous decision to give up working as a project director and to make a living from his first love - music.
Then the Coronavirus struck, locking the country down and Akaal wrote a song - his Stay at Home anthem.
"I set out to make something that is positive but acknowledges the depth of the pandemic - that honours everyone involved but makes you smile."
But he needed help to make a video to go with it and embarked on a week long mission calling and co-opting friends round the world - 60 people across five continents.
He was amazed by the response.
He said: "Friends in Australia stayed up till 1am to join the video call.
"Another friend who produces music was in the middle of moving house. He set up his production gear before he even unpacked his clothes and kitchenware.
"I was stunned by the enthusiasm and instant commitment for the cause."
An online party for 66 people ensued with Akaal co-ordinating everyone's movements and individual contributing performances from the talented and 'not so talented' friends he had made contacts with.
Music producer Joe McGairl and video editor Steve Knight helped get the final video ready in three days.
In the end it had 25,000 views in six days.
Akaal says he has learned one thing - never let old friends go.
"One said he had had no idea how much it would mean to him when I asked him to get involved. It is really worth checking in with people."
