A new survey has been commissioned by Slough Borough Council and Arts Council England to develop a ‘Cultural (Arts) Strategy for Slough’.
The survey aims to help the Council implement plans to ensure all Slough residents can participate in and engage with cultural and arts activities. The activities that will be discussed and planned include music, theatre, film, dance, festivals, crafts, photography, film, crafts, heritage, libraries, parks and open spaces.
Cllr Martin Carter, cabinet member for planning and transport, said: “We are keen to hear residents’ views about the future of culture and the arts in Slough. These views will be fed into our new cultural strategy which will aim to deliver a cultural and arts scene in the town which will be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. We are delighted to be supported by Arts Council England in this exciting project.
“We want Slough to be recognised as a town of culture in the future. Historically, our residents have celebrated and participated in cultural activities within their own communities or have sought entertainment outside of the borough.
“We plan to grow, celebrate and promote more cultural opportunities for all communities to engage in which is why residents’ views are important to us. Please take a few moments to complete the online survey by 18 March. Your views are extremely important to us.”
