The Conservative candidate for the upcoming Datchet by-election has been named as former Datchet Paris Council chairman, David Cannon.
Following the sudden death of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Councillor, Jesse Grey, the by-election will be held on November 22 and former Detective Inspector Cannon has been selected as the Conservative candidate.
The Royal Borough Conservatives said of David: “He is committed to helping residents of Datchet and the Royal Borough and would be an excellent councillor.
“Working alongside Gary Muir, councillor for Datchet, David’s skills would strengthen the local team in the interest of residents and community.
“David has been an active member of the local community , involved in scouting for over 35 years , is currently Chair of Windsor and Eton District Scout Council.
“He is a former Datchet Parish Council Chairman and former Chair of the Datchet British Legion, of which he is still an active member.”
Cannon will be running against Ewan Larcombe who has already been announced as an independent candidate.
