A MAN has been arrested following a sexual assault on a 83-year-old woman and the attempted kidnap of a 15-year-old girl.
On Friday, the teenager was stopped by a driver in Slough at around 2.15pm, on the junction of Salisbury Avenue and Essex Avenue. The driver asked the girl for directions. When she approached, he then opened the driver's door and attempted to push the victim inside. She was able to break free and ran away, while the driver drove off in the direction of Farnham Road.
Just 15 minutes later, a man approached an 83-year-old woman in Stoke Poges, claiming to be from the council. After she asked for identification, he sexually assaulted her.
Thames Valley Police announced today (Wednesday) that a 30-year-old man from Gerrards Cross had been arrested in connection with the incidents.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, attempted kidnap, failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by an officer, dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drink, driving whilst unfit through drugs, and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The driving offences listed above took place in Slough today and on Tuesday.
He is currently in police custody.
