A BAR has been fined over £2,000 for a string of noise complaints.
The operators of The Lounge, London Road, were prosecuted and fined for two noise abatement breaches last month.
The bar, located within the Skyways Hotel, was examined by Slough Borough Council in May 2017 following a number of complaints.
The venue was given a notice requiring them to not cause a nuisance to residents.
However, on two later occasions in December 2017, council officers discovered that The Lounge was playing music so loudly that it was audible inside nearby properties, and was preventing residents from sleeping.
Taranjit Singh Dhanowalia, licence holder, pleaded guilty to both charges, while Paramjit Kaur Dhesi, premises supervisor, was allocated a guilty plea in her absence.
Cllr Pavitar K Mann, said: “I’m pleased with the fine issued for these offences. Residents have a right to peace and quiet in their own homes and the level of noise from this bar was unacceptable.”
