Iman Atta-ur-Rahman Khalid has completed his 554 mile cycle ride, climbing to a height of over 30,000 feet and raising over £1,700 for the British Red Cross.
Imam Khalid from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough & South Bucks joined members from its Youth Association in their Ride4Peace charity challenge that took place last week.
The cyclists departed from London and travel through Bath, the Cotswolds, the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia, North Wales and finally the Peak District over the seven day period.
The Ride4Peace falls under the youth arm's annual Mercy for Mankind charity challenge. The overall target this year is to raise half a million pounds for UK charities.
Imam Khalid said: “I was overwhelmed by the incredible encouragement and support we received everywhere we cycled in both England and Wales, from people cheering us on, shop keepers offering us free cups of tea and coffee and members of the public digging into their pockets to sponsor us. This beautiful gesture made the long hours on the saddle, the steep climbs and the lack of sleep all the more worthwhile.”
