TRAIN company GWR is advising people not to travel by rail today due to disruption and delays around its network as a result of the snow and cold weather.
The company said train services running across the whole Great Western Railway network on Sunday 'may be cancelled, delayed or revised' and 'disruption is expected until the end of the day'.
Although there is currently only minor disruption, the company said that where services were cancelled, no bus replacements would be provided due to the poor road conditions.
People are being advised to check their journeys online using this planning tool.
A spokesman said: "Note also that road transport previously advertised to operate in place of rail services in connection with improvement works will itself be subject to delay, cancellation and curtailment at short notice.
"Customers with unused tickets dated for today are able to use their tickets on Monday 19th March 2018."
GWR said that services running between Bedwyn in Wiltshire and Newbury, Berks, could be cancelled as some of the lines had been blocked overnight by the snow. Disruption is expected to at least 1pm today.
Meanwhile, scheduled bus services are expected to operate as normal today across Berkshire with some minor delays. However provider, First Group, said it did not anticipate any cancellations so far.
On Twitter this morning First Group said: "Good morning from our Slough Operations Centre... We are currently operating a full service this morning, with delays due to road conditions. Please leave extra time to complete your journeys today. We will update you if anything changes. #snowwatch2018."
