TWO people have been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a fire spread from a car to a house in Slough this afternoon (Monday).
The blaze happened in Lismore Park at around 1pm and completely gutted the house after spreading from the car, which was on the drive, through the plastic windows and into the home, firefighters said. Its roof is also damaged.
Two homes - standing on either side of the property - were also hit by the fire and suffered smoke damage.
Residents in all three properties will have to be rehoused tonight, this newspaper understands.
It took firefighters around three hours to bring the blaze under control and some are still at the scene damping down remnants.
The cause is not believed to be suspicious although an investigation has been launched. Six engines had attended the scene with an aerial platform to tackle the fire, including two main jets, three hosereels and six breathing apparatus.
