DESPITE the rain, voters still turned up to make their voices heard this morning.

Even at 8am, just an hour after voting begun, people were filing in and out of the polling stations to put their tick in the box.

At Manor Youth Centre in Hanover Way, Dedworth voters were aware of the significance of the day.

Vimal Panchal, said: "I just think that in life there are times when you don't have a say and when you do, you should take that opportunity."

Another Dedworth resident, Jane Foyster, who lives in Hanover Way, felt she needed to cast her vote for the younger generations.

She said: "It's for the future of our country. I have nieces and I thought it was important to vote for them really.

"It's important for their future and what they're doing."

Voting closes at 10pm tonight and sealed ballot boxes and any postal votes handed in to polling stations will be transported to the count venue in each area, with results expected to start coming in after 2am.

Representatives from both camps were feeling positive this morning.

Lea Trainer, chairman of the Slough Vote Leave campaign, said: "I am feeling absolutely fantastic, the response during the campaign has been excellent and we are looking forward to this evening.

"If you believe in true democracy then you should vote leave to take control and get power for the people."

Matt Bezzant, chairman of Berkshire Stronger In, said: "I'm personally feeling very confident. We've all noticed a big change in the mood on the streets in the last two weeks, a lot of people proclaiming that they are voting remain.

"I had a quick chat with someone today telling me he was undecided and asked me how he should vote. He was young, like me, and I told him how important it is that we have a stable economy over the next few years which will allow us to get on the housing ladder and retain a huge number of jobs across Berkshire."

Verification for Slough, the Royal Borough and South Bucks began when the votes arrived at Montem Leisure Centre in Slough, Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead and Capswood in Denham.
