A COUNCILLOR who was set to be made Mayor of Slough last night (Thursday) is under investigation by his employer and trade union for a string of allegations including jetting off to India for a friend's wedding while being signed off sick.
The Observer can reveal councillor Balvinder Bains is being investigated by employer Heathrow Airport after allegations he visited India and the USA for holidays and has been continuing his duties as councillor while signed off sick with stress.
Cllr Bains, who is due to become Slough's first citizen at the annual inaugural ceremony tonight, refutes the allegations.
