RESIDENTS have been left shocked after the body of a 43-year-old woman was found in a business park yards from family homes.

Police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a body found in Bristol Way Business Park, in Stoke Gardens, Baylis, at 1.50pm on Tuesday.

Officers investigating the unexplained death cordoned off an area off Stoke Gardens and Grays Road leading to the business park on Tuesday and remained at the scene on Wednesday.

Daljit Hoonjan, who lives close to the crime scene, said: "I was coming back from work on Tuesday and there were lots of police cars, but I didn't think too much of it at that point.

"Later there were forensic cop cars there and they blocked the whole area off and they were still there on Wednesday.

"It was quite strange to see that around here, it was a bit of a shock."

A resident living opposite the business park, who did not want to be named, said: "I was very shocked to think it was on my doorstep.

"My family has lived in this street for years and you don't expected it. It is very sad."

A post-mortem into the cause of death was carried out on Wednesday and concluded the death was not suspicious.

Three men, aged 38, 45, and 52, were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death, but later released without charge.

An inquest is due to be opened today (Friday).

Anyone with information which might help officers with their investigation are asked to contact Det Ch Insp Hurdley via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
