Officers were called to an address in Wyndham Crescent at around 1.10pm on Sunday following reports of a fight involving several people.
Sadly a man, today named as 35-year-old Beau Robinson, died.
His family are being supported by specially trained officers.
The results of a Home Office post-mortem examination, which was conducted yesterday (June 24), are pending “further medical opinion”, police have confirmed.
Daniel Hicks, aged 30 and of no fixed abode, was charged last night (June 24) with one count of murder and one count of possession of a blade in a public place in connection with the incident.
Head of Major Crime, Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Robinson at this extremely difficult time.
“We would ask that their privacy is respected while they try to come to terms with what has happened.
“Our investigation continues.”
