A MAN has been jailed after he caused multiple fractures to a man's face.
Mickel Yanni, 21, of Farnham Road, Farnham Royal, was jailed for 20 months at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, January 12 after he pleaded guilty to assault causing grievous bodily harm.
At around 11.30pm on Friday, December 11 last year, police received a call from a 20-year-old man from Slough on Farnham Road, Slough stating he had been assaulted.
Around an hour earlier the victim had been in a shop in Farnham Road when he was punched twice in the face by Yanni.
Officers found the victim on the forecourt of a petrol station bleeding from his nose and mouth.
He was subsequently taken to Wexham Park Hospital where it was discovered he had sustained multiple fractures to both sides of his face. He was then transferred to Northwick Park Hospital in London for specialist treatment.
Investigating officer, detective sergeant Lorna Fox, of Slough CID, said: ”Yanni was originally charged with robbery and GBH in connection with this incident which left a 20-year-old man seriously injured. However, following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, the robbery charge was later dropped.
“I am pleased with the sentencing which reflects the seriousness of Yanni’s actions on the night.”
