After disappointment that Let's Rock the Moor is not returning to its hometown this year, another music festival is stepping in to offer an alternative.

Formosa Fest is hoping to attract music lovers on Saturday, May 18, with an offering of local talent.

It forms part of the Cookham Festival, which runs from May 3 to May 19.

On the events page, they state: "Are you disappointed that Rock the Moor won't be happening this year?

"Fear not, because Formosa Fest is here to fill the gap."

The music event has previously been featured as part of the Cookham Festival.

Performances will include; Country Chicks, Formosa Frenzy, Tina Oldham, Matt Bond and the Poor Boys, Thousand Yard Stare, Bodkin Lane, and DJ Freddy.

A group of young performers from Cookham and Marlow called Off Beat and local singer/songwriter Sean Pow will also be sharing their talents.

Music will range from country to rock and DJ sets.

There will be a licensed bar and food stalls on site and the event is dog-friendly.

Limited car parking will be available.

In February, festival giant, Let's Rock the Moor, which began in the village in 2009, confirmed it will not be coming back to the area this year.

It followed an outburst after the organisers shared the summer lineup of events on their Facebook - with no Cookham in sight.

On approaching the event organisers, Let’s Rock organisers UK Live told the Observer: “We have been working hard in the background to confirm our 2024 events and we have communicated on all of our socials which locations we will be visiting this summer."

Tickets for Formosa Fest can be bought at cookhamfestival.co.uk/formosa-fest.

Children under five go free, children over five are charged £12.50 and adult tickets cost £25.
