Plans for the annual Summer Fair in Windsor and Eton have been revealed.

The event, which usually includes a fair and duck race, will be including the Royal Borough's Armed forces day event in the celebrations on Saturday, June 29.

Upon the announcement, Paul Andreianu, Chair of Windsor and Eton Rotary Club, said: "We are so glad to incorporate the Armed Forces Day event as part of our successful Summer fundraising event and provide a perfect setting for this joint event."

Neil Knowles, outgoing Mayor and armed forces champion, said: "After a good few years of effort we're now able to forge ahead with this event, and invite all veterans, serving personnel, cadets and their families in the local area, to come to Windsor to enjoy our event."

The Summer Fair will take place at Alexandra Gardens next to the river, where live bands, displays and stalls will be held throughout the day.

Veteran visitors can enjoy the Guard Mount and then walk down in time to join the drum head service commemorating D Day at 1pm.

"We're doing this from a standing start so invite any Veteran groups, re-enactors and those with military-themed stalls to add to this event," Cllr Knowles added.
